If you desire to partner with us to help us further God’s mission to make disciples of all nations, thank you. This great task cannot be done apart from the generosity of people like you who believe that God is at work in the world! So, we join the apostle Paul in thanking you for “entering into partnership” with us. Your gifts are “a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And [our] God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:15, 18, 19)!
There are three essential ways in which you can partner with us for this church plant:
- Pray for us (Prayer Partnership)
- Give to us (Financial Partnership)
- Come with us (Launch Partnership)
“Prayer is the mighty engine that is to move the missionary work.” — A.B. Simpson
This road before us can only be traversed through prayer. Prayer is that great act of profound trust in God, the only one who is able to bring about His purposes in us. And while we have bathed our plans in prayer, we are desperate for brothers and sisters who will commit to upholding us before God’s throne to beseech His guidance, wisdom, patience, protection, and provision for us and our families as we enter into the mission field. Will you commit to praying for us?
In our minds, a prayer partner is one who will give time each week to pray for us as we plant this church. As a suggestion, a prayer partner may carve out 30 minutes of time each week to pray for us specifically pertaining to the plant. Following are some suggestions for specific prayer areas:
- For Our Families: Pray for marital unity and health; our children (e.g. their protection, growth in Christ, calm hearts as our families move about); togetherness for our families (e.g. enjoyable and frequent family time, conversation, unity); good health; protection and provision
- For Needed Resources: That God would continue to provide for us financially; spiritual growth (for Joshua and Aaron, Michelle, Andrea, and our children); meaningful personal relationships; opportunity for ministry in our neighborhoods, school, and workplaces
- For the Church Plant: That God would show us specifically where we are to plant (e.g. city and neighborhood); provision for all necessities; funds for planting; that God would send us diverse leadership; for launch partners (see below)
A prayer partner would also be placed on an email list to be contacted if/when specific prayer needs arise.
If a prayer partnership is something you feel God is leading you to, please fill out the form below. We will contact you soon discuss this opportunity!
“All the money needed to send and support an army of self-sacrificing, joy-spreading ambassadors is already in the church.” — John Piper
As with any long-term missions endeavor, church planting is equally as expensive. We are aware of the large amount of money we will need to carry us through our preparation at the Pastor’s College, residency, and ultimately, launch of the new church. For this reason, we are praying that God continue to fund this missionary work through the hearts and pockets of fellow saints who love to see the Gospel permeate every city.
To help facilitate the appropriation of your generosity, we will launch three separate fundraising campaigns in order to raise the needed funds for each phase of planting*. There’s two ways you can partner with us financially during these phases:
*All monthly contributions given through CrossWay Community Church are tax-deductible. Please visit either of our giving pages for more information.
OPTION TWO: Drink Coffee!
“Some wish to live within the sound of a chapel bell; I wish to run a rescue mission within a yard of hell.” -C.T. Studd
Successful church plants need prayer and money, this is true. But the third strand in the cord is certainly people. As we prepare and plan for this new plant, one of our most frequent prayers is that God would send us men, women, and children to come along with us to launch the church. We are asking Him for friends who possess various gifts and abilities, as well as those of different ethnicities, to join us on this mission! The “launch phase” will likely not take place until 2018, but we offer this opportunity now so that people will begin to pray about helping us “run this rescue mission.”
Will you pray about how God might use you in establishing a Gospel-preaching, Spirit-filled church in Wilmington, N.C.?
